We are back from Memphis, Tennessee, I have to tell ya the weather was really nice, in the 80's with partial cloud cover, good thing, the sun was kind of warm, no rain though. Things didn't go as well as we had hoped with the race, the trip was fine up and back, but the first qualifying run proved to be less than a good qualifier. The transmission case split due to high pressure, of course it wasn't really made to be put behind a blown alcohol engine, but it does work well for a few runs. Well after a little shopping around the outskirts of Memphis, we did finally find a new case, got it modified and in the car, but just a few seconds late to get it to the staging lanes and make a run. This is the first race in the series that we didn't make it to eliminations I guess they call it racing, but it sure is aggravating doing all that running around and not qualify...

This weekend we went to Bradenton Florida, not for the NMCA races, but to test the new transmission and run a few rounds. The new transmission worked out real nice, took the car down the track at 7.51 @ 189.99 mph (I was told that is close enough to 190 mph to count, but it isn't really there). We qualified number four on Saturday for the Sunday races. We did pretty good though eliminations right to the semi final round when we lost the blower belt. There was a lot of competition and cars there for the Bradenton Motorsports Park grand opening ( it used to be Desoto Speedway ) They did a lot of work to the whole park, it is a nice track to race and for watching the races.
